'Humans inspire me to strive for equality - we are all unique beings who deserve equal rights of passage through this mindfield of life.'

AJE CREATIVE DIRECTOR, EDWINA FOREST

'The American writer Celeste Ng. I whipped through her book Little Fires Everywhere last year. As an Asian-American woman, she’s not heavy handed about her ethnic background but it obviously informs her work. And what’s even more wonderful is that she uses her increasingly significant platform and literary fame to highlight other new writers, many of them of Asian background - the more stories we hear from new voices, the better our understanding of others can be. I wholeheartedly believe in a rising tide lifts all boats, and she’s someone who’s putting it into practice.'

FASHION FEATURES AND CONTENT STRATEGY DIRECTOR, VOGUE AUSTRALIA, ZARA WONG

'ZAHA HADID. HER OUT OF THE BOX THINKING IN A MALE DOMINATED INDUSTRY INSPIRES ME TO THINK CREATIVELY ABOUT DESIGN.'

PR AND MARKETING MANAGER, DINOSAUR DESIGNS, HELEENA TRAHANAS

'I don’t believe I have only one person who inspires me most, every day people are standing up for equality and I think that is very admirable. We should all have equal opportunities regardless of race, religion, gender etc. We don’t need to be categorised and treated differently, we need to move forward and change these stereotypes and normalities. Equality is a basic human right.'

MODEL, ALEYNA FITZGERALD

'MY FRIEND HWVAR, SHE IS A YOUNG KURDISH-AUSTRALIAN SOCIAL WORKER. SHE HAS HAD SOME SIGNIFICANT CHALLENGES BUT THAT DOESN'T SLOW HER DOWN. SHE IS AN ADVOCATE FOR JUSTICE AND A VOICE FOR PEACE.'
